Long Beach entrance to be named for Gunther

Former State Sen. George “Doc” Gunther’s name will live on in Stratford as the entrance leading to Long Beach will be named for him.

Sterling House honors volunteers

Sterling House Community Center recently celebrated its Volunteer Appreciation Dinner at Vazzano’s Four Seasons while also remembering two special teens, Debbie Diaz and Erin Jockers.

On Friday, May 29th, Mayor Hoydick, Chief McNeil, and VFW Commander Dick Kennedy visited Bunnell High School to meet with Civics and US History students to discuss their own personal stories about Memorial Day. Dr. Dowling presented the Bunnell HS flag to Commander Kennedy to commemorate his retirement from his command post and to thank him for his years of support as he has visited BHS for Memorial Day and Veterans Day services for many years.
