Too often Council gives mayor and boards a pass

To the Editor:

It matters not how redistricting is done, what matters is the quality of the candidates, and you the voter actually getting out and voting.

At this point in time, we have two candidates vying for the Democratic nomination for mayor, one Republican seeking to be renominated and one Petitioning candidate.

The most important races are for the Town Council, for their role is oversight of the mayor. It is even more important if they are of the same party. Too often they give their party’s mayor a pass. Too often they do not scrutinize the behavior of boards. They need to do their own independent studies. Change is good, ask a baby.
