Three charged in home invasion

Two Bridgeport men and a boy are facing home invasion and robbery charges after being accused of forcing their way into a Stratford Avenue home.

Stratford police arrested Devere Torres, 18, and Shawn Hunter, 25, on Nov. 2. Police said Torres, Hunter and a juvenile male forced their way into the Stratford Avenue residence and robbed two of its occupants. The three fled the scene but were stopped by officers a short distance away. Police said the three suspects were found in possession of items reported stolen, including credit cards, cash and a cell phone. No injuries were reported.

Hunter and Torres were each charged with first-degree robbery, home invasion and interfering with an officer. Both were held on $100,000 bond and were scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on Nov. 9. The juvenile was charged with first-degree robbery and home invasion. He was issued a juvenile court summons and later released.
