Reckless holds off Wetnets in Varsity Division

Reckless’ eight-game winning streak was severely tested recently in the Sterling House High School Basketball League’s Varsity Division.
Reckless survived, nipping the Wetnets 38-37 behind the 16-point effort of Philip Miklovich. Hector Sanchez had 11 points for the Wetnets.
The Panthers took Big B & the Rest to overtime before losing 57-53.
The division’s top scorer, Ricardo Alcover, had 27 points for the Panthers. Elijah Caserta paced the winners with 15 points.
In another close encounter, the Hi-Flyers topped the Dream Team 47-44. Both Shabbir Jawad of the Hi-Flyers and Dean Loehn of the Dream Team scored a dozen points.
In the battle to escape the division’s basement, Everything Well Done defeated the Supersonics 34-30.
In the Junior Varsity Division, Bryce Hudas’ 27-point performance was not enough as Team Lockdown beat Stratford’s Finest 59-37. Tymon Johnson paced the winners with 17 points.
Team Lockdown completed its doubleheader with a 49-33 loss to the Tropics.
Samuel Leventhal had 14 points for the Tropics, while Angel Diaz had 11 markers for Team Lockdown.
The final week of the regular season is on tap.
There will be two games Friday night, six games on Saturday, and two more Monday.
All games are played at Flood Middle School.
