Stratford pins Weston

The Stratford High wrestling team defeated Weston High, 43-30, in Stratford on Wednesday.
Brandon Murphy pinned in 1:38 at 160 pounds, Darriell Diaz won a 14-13 decision at 171, and James Jackson posted a fall in 4:20 at 182 to give the Red Devils a 15-6 led  after four bouts.
Weston won the next two weights before Kylani Walker was awarded a win by forfeit in the heavyweight division to make it 21-15 Stratford going into the lower weight classes.
Matt DiCostanzo won his 106-pound match by fall in 1:30 and Mike LaPia scored a 14-0 win by major decision at 120 to up the margin to 31-18.
Mike Butler pinned in 2:30 at 126 pounds and Brian Evan scored a fall in 1:17 at 132 pounds to provide Stratford’s final points.
The Red Devils’ Lance Jamison wrestled well in losing 4-2 at 220 pounds, as did Alex Gordon, who dropped a 16-14 decision at 113 pounds.
