Gun, drugs found after car runs light

A Bridgeport man faces drug and weapons charges after police stopped the 2008 Mercedes Benz he was driving for running a red light.

Kimanie Graham, 22, appeared nervous when officers stopped his car on Honeyspot Road near Lordship Boulevard around 7:13 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18.

As officers interviewed Graham, one saw a handgun wedged between the driver seat and center console, according to police.

“Subsequent investigation also revealed that Graham was in possession of not only an illegal handgun, but also approximately 115 grams of crack cocaine and $4,440 of suspected drug proceeds,” according to a release from Stratford Police.

Graham was taken into custody without incident, charged with failure to obey a traffic light, operating a motor vehicle while under suspension, excessive window tint, possession of a handgun without a permit, weapons in a motor vehicle, and possession of crack cocaine with the intent to sell.

Bond was $25,000 for court Feb. 4.
