Bunnell defeats unbeaten

The Bunnell High boys basketball team knocked Bethel High from the ranks of the unbeaten when coach Pat Yerina’s Bulldogs defeated the Wildcats, 77-58, in Stratford on Tesday.
Bunnell improved to 8-1 overall and 4-1 in the SWC, while Bethel dropped to 10-1 and 4-1.
Bunnell took a 24-17 lead after one period and stretched it to 42-27 at the half.
After an 18-18 third stanza, Bunnell closed with a 17-13 run.
Isaac Vann scored 25 points and Matt Nolting 23.
Ryan Pittman and Claude Joseph added eight points each for the Bulldogs, who will visit Notre Dame-Fairfield on Saturday at 4 p.m.
