Stratford Library Children’s Department changes hours

The Stratford Library Children’s Department has announced that it will curtail service hours in the department beginning in September due to improvements being done to the heating, lighting and air duct systems. The Library will be phasing in several HVAC projects through the end of 2015 and into the new year. Phase one of this project will involve the Children’s Department.

The start date for the Children’s Department project is Sept. 8 and it is expected to last until about Oct. 23. During that period the Children’s Department will be closed and moved to the Lovell Program Room located on the main level. There will be librarians on duty throughout the project but there will be limited access to children’s materials. A series of selected books, Playaways, games, music CDs and DVDs will be available in the Lovell Room while a partial children’s collection will also be on display in the Main Lobby.

The new schedule for the Children’s Department in the Lovell Room is Mondays and Wednesdays, 10-noon and 3:30-8; Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10-5; Fridays and Saturdays, 10-5.
