Sterling HS update

The Sterling House Basketball League’s High School Divisions kicked off their seasons over the weekend.
In the Varsity Division, Jamaine Paige of the Panthers had the hot hand pouring in 17 points, 15 of those from three-point land, as the Panthers pummeled the defending champion Wetnets 58-24.
In the closest contest of the day, the Supersonics nipped the Dream Team 30-26.
Tegh Terrell of the ‘Sonics and Daniel Michaud of the Dream Team had nine points each.
Reckless defeated Team Uno, 43-26.  Jon Prutting of Reckless and Alec Ward of Team Uno each scored 11 points.
In the final Varsity contest, despite a dozen points from Joseph Marsan, the Hi Flyers flew past Everything Well Done 40-30.
In the Junior Varsity Division, the Dream Team was too hot for the Tropics, winning 59-33.
Troy Vazzano scored 12 points for the winners and Samuel Leventhal had 14 tallies for the Tropics.
In the other game, Team Lockdown topped Steve Piroh’s Stratford’s Finest 37-17.
Two games are on tap on Friday.
At 6:15 in the Varsity Division, the Wetnets play the Dream Team, followed by a Junior Varsity tilt at 7:30 between the Tropics and the Thunder.
All games are played at Flood Middle School.
