Town expecting fire boat

According to Stratford Professional Firefighters Facebook page, Stratford Fire Department’s new Fire Rescue Boat has been sea trialed and should be delivered in January.

The boat will help the fire department protect the millions of dollars of homes, marinas, and boats in and around our waters while also increasing our rescue capabilities.

It will also help neighboring communities and entities, such as the US Coast Guard with its state of the art electronics and fire suppression system.

The boat was purchased with funding from a Federal grant. Thanks go to Mayor Harkins, Chief McGrath, Deputy Chief Gottfried, residents of the Town of Stratford, and the Town Council for their support.

More details as well as an official press release will follow once the boat is delivered and in Stratford.
