Stratford Farmers Market to reopen at new location

The Stratford Farmers Market will open for the season on Monday, June 30, from 2-4 p.m., on Paradise Green in Stratford.

The market will run every Monday until the end of October from 2-6 p.m., rain or shine. As in previous years, seasonal Connecticut-grown produce, local shellfish, baked goods, and crafts will be featured.

“Come join us for our opening day celebration and enjoy locally-grown, fresh fruits and vegetables,” said Andrea Boissevain, Health Director. The opening day celebration will feature local businesses, face painting, and more, she said.

Encouraging residents to consume plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables daily, in addition to regular exercise, continues to be a major goal for the Stratford Health Department. The Health Department is part of a coalition called Get Healthy CT, which aims to decrease obesity and increase physical activity.

All residents are welcome to attend the opening day celebration. Senior and WIC coupons are accepted.
