Happy Days at Johnson House this June
For their 31st production, the students of Stratford Academy-Johnson House will present the Garry Marshall and Paul Williams production of Happy Days.
Performances are Fridays and Saturdays, June 1-2 and June 8-9, all at 7 p.m., and Sunday, June 10, at 2 p.m. in the Johnson House Auditorium, 719 Birdseye St. Reserved seat tickets are $7 ($8 at the door), and can be ordered by calling the school at 203-385-4180.
Literacy workshop for early childhood educators
Stratford Parents' Place, through its Early Childhood Institute, is sponsoring a workshop called Early Literacy Thursday, June 7, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Johnson House/Stratford Academy Library Media Center, 719 Birdseye St.Stratford High second quarter honor roll

Scott Szturma of Flood Middle School was named Outstanding Teacher of American History by the Connecticut Daughters of the American Revolution at their 119th annual state conference Friday, April 13, in Southbury.
A resident of Beacon Falls, Szturma was nominated by Stratford Sarah Riggs Humphreys-Mary Silliman Chapter member Charlene Johnson, citing his “dedication and unflagging enthusiasm in teaching his eighth grade students.”
Scholarship available to Stratford residents
Applications are now available for Stratford residents, graduating from any of the high schools in the area, to apply for financial aid for their higher education in an undergraduate program at any college or university.
Parkinson association scholarship
Connecticut Chapter of the American Parkinson Association is offering three scholarships to high school seniors who will be graduating in June 2012.
The scholarship is offered to a student who will be attending a four-year accredited college and has had the experience of living with a loved one who was or is affected with Parkinson’s Disease; and how the students life has been affected. An essay will be required and sent to the chairperson of the scholarship committee. Deadline is March 31.
