Man nabbed peeping under woman’s skirt

Milford police arrested a Stratford man for voyeurism and breach of peace after he was found to be allegedly videotaping women in an inappropriate manner at the Post mall on May 5.

Police said Leonard Patterson, 35, of Stratford was observed by security allegedly kneeling down near a female customer and pointing a mini video camera in an upward direction under her dress.

   

Cards stolen from cars used at Hartford mall

Police have suspects in a series of car break-ins in Stratford on May 2.

Three men attempted to use a credit card stolen during about 12 burglaries at the West Farms Mall in Hartford. Three surveillance photos of the attempt to use the stolen card were released Friday, May 4, by Stratford police.

   

Gregory Circle raid nets weapons, drugs

A Gregory Circle man was arrested Wednesday, May 2, after a police raid at his home.

Antwan Pina, 18, was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit, possession of marijuana with the intent to sell and possession of marijuana within a housing project.

   

Possession of narcotics

Two people were arrested after police stopped a car because it did not have a brake light May 2 at 11:27 a.m.

An officer reported seeing a Mazda Millennium pull out of the Honeyspot Motel, stop upon noticing a police car, then wait for police to pass. The officer turned around and followed the vehicle, stopping it at the intersection of Stratford and Surf avenues.

   

Shoplifters chased

Two New Haven women, one of whom told police she was pregnant, were arrested after they were allegedly observed shoplifting at Burlington Coat Factory, 800 Barnum Avenue Cut-off, May 4 at 4:44 p.m.

Police responded to the store when security observed the women on surveillance cameras. Police stationed outside and waited until they were told the women were leaving the store.

   

Charged with criminal impersonation

A New Haven man was arrested after he attempted to use his brother's name after a traffic stop May 5 at 9:46 p.m.

Michael Kundert, 49, was stopped near the intersection of Stratford and Bruce avenues because an officer said there was no front license plate on the car he was driving.

   

Police say Bridgeport teen carried gun at carnival

The brother of a 14-year-old gunned down in Bridgeport in January was arrested at a Stratford carnival for carrying a loaded gun.

On Saturday, April 21, around 8:40 p.m., members of the Statewide Urban Violence Task Force were assisting Stratford police in identifying gang activity at the Coleman Brothers Carnival when task force members identified Jordan Thompson as he was entering the event.

   

Three brothers charged after drugs seized during raid

Three men were arrested when Stratford police helped West Haven police raid a house at 330 Masarik Ave. in Stratford Wednesday, Oct. 5.

   

Multiple tires slashed

Numerous tires were reportedly slashed along Garibaldi Avenue Monday night.
Police have numerous reports of vandalism. Published and broadcast stories have said as many as 40 cars were vandalized, but police could not confirm that number Wednesday.
Sgt. David Gugliotti said such spates of vandalism occur “not often, from time to time,” and in all parts of Stratford.
   

Man injured in crash

A Stratford man suffered “critical” injuries Sunday, June 19, when the car he was driving struck a tree near the intersection of Barnum and Nichols avenues.
Police said Robert Reed, 76, of Green Valley Road was driving south on Nichols Avenue when his car veered off the road and struck a tree on Booth Street.
Reed was the sole occupant, police said.
He was taken to Bridgeport Hospital by Stratford EMS after being freed from his Honda SUV by Stratford Fire/Rescue.
The accident is under investigation by the Stratford Police Accident Reconstruction Team.
