Tillie Kodnia
Tillie Kodnia, 89, of Milford, formerly of Orange, wife of the late William Kodnia, died Jan. 26, at St. Regis Health Center in New Haven. Her son, William Kodnia Jr. and his wife, Beth live in Stratford.
Daughter of the late Harry and Susanna Gmiterko Shost, she was born Sept. 12, 1922 in Yonkers, N.Y.
Mrs. Kodnia worked in retail for many years before her retirement. She was an active member of the Orange Senior Center.
She is survived by two children, Susan Rocchio of Milford and William Kodnia Jr. and his wife, Beth of Stratford; her grandchildren, Dr. Scott J. Rocchio, Dr. Greg W. Rocchio and his wife, Marcie, Kyle W. Kodnia and Matthew A. Kodnia; and great-grandchildren, Landon W. and Cody J. Rocchio.
She was predeceased by a son-in-law, William J. Rocchio; and a brother, Michael Shost.
Services are Monday, Jan. 30, 10 a.m., St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church, 1 Honeyspot Road, Stratford. Burial to follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, Yonkers. Visiting hours, Sunday, Jan. 29, 4-7 p.m., Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford.
