Services Saturday for Fire Department Lt. Thomas McCabe

Funeral services will be held Saturday for Stratford Fire Department Lt. Thomas McCabe.
A marching procession of firefighters will leave Fire Company No. 2 at the corner of Huntington Road and Bulldog Boulevard at about 9 a.m. Saturday.
The funeral service will be begin at 10 a.m. at St. Mark's Parish, 500 Wigwam Lane Stratford.
McCabe died Tuesday, Jan. 24, at the age of 54. CLICK HERE TO READ HIS OBITUARY.
St. Mark School has postponed its Winter Carnival, which was scheduled for Saturday,
Interment will immediately follow the service at Union Cemetery, 23 Temple Court, Stratford.
Bill Hansen, president of Stratford Firefighters Union IAFF 998, said McCabe last worked Friday and was not on duty at the time of his death.
The union posted on its Facebook page: "Lieutenant Tom McCabe was a 24 year decorated veteran of the Stratford Fire Department, served as Treasurer for the Firefighters Benevolent Association, and was also the department historian. Lt McCabe was 54 years old and leaves behind a wife and three children. The loss of Lt McCabe will surely have a lasting impact on the members of the Stratford Fire Department and his local community. RIP Lt McCabe. We miss you brother and you will not be forgotten!"
The McCabe family has asked that donations be made to the Stratford Firefighter's Benevolent Fund in Tom's memory. Donations can be sent to Stratford Firefighters Benevolent Association , P.O. BOX 252, Stratford, CT 06615.
