‘Ride Against Child Abuse’ — Sunday, May 20
The first annual Ride Against Child Abuse to benefit The Center for Women and Families of Eastern Fairfield County 50 mile motorcycle poker run through Fairfield County will be held the morning of Sunday, May 20.Registration will be from 9:30-11:30 a.m., in The Center's parking lot located at 753 Fairfield Ave., Bridgeport. The ride will end at the Germania Schwaben Club, 416 Horace St., Bridgeport. Food will be served from noon-2:30 p.m. There will also be music, raffles and prizes.

Roast beef dinner at KofC — Thursday, May 24
Stratford Knights of Columbus will hold a roast beef dinner Thursday May 24, at 6:30 p.m. at the hall, 2252 Main St. The dinner is open to all. Admission is $10 at the door.The menu includes roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, bread and butter, wine, coffee, tea and dessert.

Historical Society to hear one-woman musical May 25

The New & Nearly New Shop, 2323 Barnum Ave., operated by the volunteers of the Kennedy Center Auxiliary is in need of donations of house wares, knick knacks, sheets, towels, curtains and costume jewelry.
