John Santa will discuss the Malta Justice Initiative Sunday, Feb. 1, at 2 p.m. Free and open to the public. The Malta Justice Initiative (MJI) began its work in the early 2000s under the name Malta Prison Volunteers of Connecticut. The U.S. has become the world’s leading jailer, housing 22.4 percent of the world’s inmates, but with only 4.6 percent of the world’s population. Council to hear theater proposals

The Town Council will be hearing presentations on Feb. 4 on three proposals for operating the town’s Shakespeare Theatre property. Stratford Stage Group, Elm Street Theater Company and those proposing to replace the Shakespeare Theatre with an amphitheater will be the presenters. Bald eagles viewing, wine tasting trip

The Stratford Recreation Department is sponsoring a bus trip to view eagles along the Housatonic River featuring Horizon Wings and their eagles to guarantee an eagle siting.
