Kids publishing workshop

Publisher David Wilk will host “Publishing for Everyone” for children ages 8 to 14 Thursdays in November and December at 4 p.m. Children will learn the steps involved in publishing their own book from cover design to editing to content. At the end of the class, children will complete a published book to take home. Children should plan to attend all six sessions in order to participate.

Quickies in the Stacks

Original 10-minute plays, by the local playwrights group SquareWrights, will be performed as a special fund-raiser for SEPTA (Stratford Special Education PTA) to raise money for “Buddy Benches” for all of Stratford’s children Saturday, Dec. 6, 2 p.m., Lovell Room. Suggested donation: $10.

SquareWrights short plays benefit special education PTA

SquareWrights Playwright Group will present Benches, a festival of seven original one-act plays on Saturday, Dec. 6, at 2 p.m., in the Lovell Room at the Stratford Library, 2203 Main St. The staged readings of short plays will benefit Stratford Special Education PTA (SEPTA). The festival of short plays offers works inspired by the concept of “benches,” as Stratford SEPTA is in the process of raising funds to acquire “Buddy Benches” for various elementary schools in town.
