Fund-raiser helps animals

A fund-raiser for The Stratford Cat Project will be held Friday, Aug. 22, 6-9, at The Winemaker’s Boutique, 2505 Main Street. The event includes a wine tasting, shopping and raffle baskets. Admission is free. Wine tastings are $5; massages ($1 per minute). Vendors feature candles, jewelry, chocolate, specialty foods and The Stratford Cat Project also will have a special raffle basket. The Stratford Cat Project will host a cat and kitten adoption and food drive on Saturday, Aug. 23, from 11-3, at Baldwin’s Corner Adoption Center in H-3 Pet Supply, 475 Hawley Lane. Two Roads Brewing Company is hosting their 2nd annual Shore to The Pour three-mile beach race, Sunday, Aug. 24, with check in at 10 a.m., at Short Beach Park. Register until Aug. 17 for $35. $1 thrift shop sale
