Become a mentor

Halloween costume dog parade

Southport Veterinary Center and the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce will hold a Halloween Costume Dog Parade at Jennings Beach on Saturday, Oct. 25, from 2 to 3 p.m. Raffle prizes will be awarded along with dog treats, candy for people and water for the dogs. Nichols Elementary School will be having its 6th annual Harvest Fest and Trunk or Treat on Sunday, Oct. 26, from 2-4 p.m., at Nichols School. Trunk or Treat, where parents decorate the trunk of their car and children walk car to car to get candy, begins at 4 p.m. Open to the public; $10 per child includes carnival games, hay ride, trick or treat bag decorating and more. Additional fee for pumpkin decorating and food.
