Bus trip to view Eagles along the Housatonic River Saturday, Feb. 2, 9 a.m., meet at the commuter parking lot across from Ryder’s Landing. Walk to the Sikorsky Bridge and try to catch a glimpse of any bald eagles in the area.
Participants then board bus to travel up the Housatonic River stopping at Lake Zoar. From Lake Zoar continue on to Southbury observing eagles hunting at the Shepaug Dam. The staff of Horizon Wings will bring their hawks, falcons and owls to observe.
After the visit to the Shepaug Dam, travel the other side of the Housatonic River for a wine sampling at a local vineyard. Re-board bus for a return to Stratford in time for lunch. Fee: $12; food and drink not included. Registration is Jan. 14-25. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
