Paige hits game-winner (Sterling HS hoop)

Jamaine Paige scored on a layup with three seconds left on the clock to give Bridge Academy a 41-39 win over Reckless in recent action in the Sterling House High School Basketball League’s Varsity Division.


Ricardo Alcover paced the first-place winners with 15 points.

James Murphy had 14 points for Reckless.

In other varsity action, South Beach topped Jokes R Us 48-40.

Daniel Green of South Beach and Pat Aspinwall of Jokes R Us both tallied 14 points in the contest.

The Wetnets had no problem with Pride, winning 52-35.

AJ Hernandez followed a 20-point performance the night before with a 15-point effort in this game.

In the Junior Varsity Division, Ballislife remained undefeated with a 48-34 victory over the Knicks.

High scorer for Ballislife was Bryan Lesperance with 10 points.

Joseph Catapano had 15 points for the Knicks.

Big B and the Rest edged Dream Team, 42-39.

Rick Giordano had game-high honors for Dream Team with 19 points, while Brandon Russo tallied a dozen points for the victors.

Tune Squad and UConn went to overtime, before Tune Squad prevailed with a 55-47 win.

Angel Diaz was the day’s top scorer with 25 markers for UConn, while Nolan Aurelia had 14 points for the winners.

In action tomorrow night, the Dream Team meets Tune Squad in Junior Varsity action at 6:10, followed by a Varsity Division contest between Bridge Academy and the Tropics at 7:20.

The games will be played at Flood Middle School.
