Letters to the Editor

LETTER: A longer train of political abuses?

Doesn’t selling a $100 million sewer plant for $11 million make Stratford’s political train of abuses longer? Weren’t fees overcharges used illegally?

LETTER: Residents will remember in November

The mayor and town council members were elected to represent you, the people of Stratford, not their friends and special interests. Remember in November!

LETTER: Stratford a victim of ‘asset stripping’

After the public hearing on the sale of the sewer system, I was disgusted by the legal lynching at Town Hall last Thursday, when the “asset stripping” votes were taken.

LETTER: Stratford’s “water loo” sewer plant?

When was Stratford’s bid process, who were bidders, and how much were proposed bids for proposed sale of Stratford’s WPCA sewer plant?

LETTER: Who really benefits from a WPCA sale?

Under the mayor’s plan, elected officials will not be held accountable to Stratford ratepayers for the WPCA sewer fees. Stratford will cede control of our efficient state-of-the-art waste processing facility to cover a budget deficit created last year on the town side.
