Specially trained canine detects illegal possession of fish

A canine with special training in detecting fish demonstrated the value of its new skills Friday evening leading to charges for fishing violations against two Bridgeport men who were out on the Housatonic River in Milford.

Stratford EMS to host open house on May 23

May 18 through the 23 is National EMS Week, and Stratford EMS will open its doors and invite the public in for an open house on May 23, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Construction truck catches fire

An equipment loader on Huntington Road caught fire on the way to a construction scene, causing Stratford firefighters to come and put it out.
