Two Bridgeport men were arrested on gun charges April 6 on Woodend Road in Stratford, near Columbus Avenue.

During a routine traffic stop, the driver was asked to step out of the car and a ski mask fell out of the vehicle. Police then found a loaded handgun under the passenger seat of the car. The handgun was later confirmed stolen out of the City of Norwalk.

The driver of the vehicle Christopher Boyd, 23, of Bridgeport and passenger Akeen Olajuan Trotter, 24, also of Bridgeport were taken into custody without incident.

Boyd was charged with Operating A Vehicle Without Insurance, Improper Signal, Failure To Have Tail Lamps, Carrying A Firearm Without A Permit, Altering An Identification Number Of A Firearm, Weapons In A Motor Vehicle and Theft Of A Firearm. He was held on a $150,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Court on April 17.
