Protect Long Beach West

To the Editor:

Long Island Sound coastal resources especially Long Beach West located in Stratford, an integrated natural estuary, unique and fragile, an asset of present and potential value to the economic well-being of Stratford and the entire state, must be preserved and protected from misuse and kept in its natural undeveloped condition for all time!!

Long Island Sound Long Beach West unique area must be protected from any attempt to commercializing it for any reason especially against sewer / water services. Development of this unique coastal area without due consideration of its natural value for marine resources, wildlife, nutrient rich soil and a unique ecosystem would be a disaster!!

All local and governmental agencies should design special environmental features to protect over time this rare and beautiful open environmental important space as a natural / wildlife area.

For these and many other reasons this special Long Beach West should be preserved as open space protected for wildlife first and humans second as a unique barrier beach location in Stratford, Connecticut.
