Born in Lavello, Italy on January 24, 1920, she resided in Stratford for most of her life until her move to St. Petersburg, Florida.
She was retired from Dresser Industries.
She is survived by her sister, Mary DiFazio Costa of Nashua, NH; six children, Salvatore (Ted) Recupido and his wife, Cynthia, of Stratford; Mario L. Recupido of St. Petersburg, FL; Cele Giordano of St. Petersburg, FL, Linda Piscatella and her husband, Michael, of St. Johns, FL; Eloise Flack and her husband, Gary, of St. Augustine, FL.; and Frank Recupido of Stratford.
She has nine grandchildren, Ted (T.J.) Recupido, Frank Recupido, Gina Cosgrove, Mario L. Recupido II, Nikki-Lyn Ward, Mario J. Recupido, Christopher Giordano, Andrea Piscatella and Mario Piscatella, as well as 10 great-grandchildren, Matthew and Jason Cosgrove, Mario L. III and Michael Recupido, Ava Rose Lipinski, Shaelyn Faith Jones, Mia Louise Recupido, Christopher Jr. and Olivia Giordano and Mikayla Piscatella.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her parents Mauro and Ersilia Conte DiFazio, her brother Joseph DiFazio and one grandson, Michael Piscatella.
Louise will be fondly remembered by all as a loving mother, wife, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed spending time with her family.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 5 at 10 a.m. at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 1950 Barnum Ave. Stratford. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. www.stjude.org/donate
