Authorities have reported 27-year-old Victoria Soto, a 2003 graduate of Stratford High School was one of the eight adults found dead at the Sandy Hook Elementary school in Newtown on Friday.
Reports suggest that Soto was the first grade teacher being hailed for shielding students against gunmen, Adam Lanza.
Users of social media sites such as Facebook have been making rampant mention of Soto’s connections to Stratford.
Many are expressing their condolences and offering prayers in remembrance of what some are calling Soto’s “heroic” final moments.
Authorities have yet to confirm the identities of the victims.
