Bunnell loses to Ledyard

The Bunnell High girls basketball team lost to Ledyard High, 66-36, in its season opener on Thursday.
“That is a very long and rangy team,” Bunnell coach Marvin Tyson said of the Colonels, which boasted both size inside and a good transition game. “They were able to leak out a player consistently. This game gives us a chance to look at what’s out there and where we can get better.”
Bunnell was led offensively by the outside shooting of Erin Koletar (16 points) and Lauryn Kostopolous, the ballhandling of Jess Bogdwicz and Deja Fonseca, and the inside play of Shannon Hofmiller, Rachel Mudre and Jill Pastor.
