Jean Hamilton Tellalian

SS-OBT-Tellalian-PAIDJean Hamilton Tellalian of Stratford, formerly of Easton, beloved wife of 60 years of Robert S. Tellalian, Esq., passed away peacefully in her home Friday, November 23, 2012 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Bridgeport the daughter of the late Thomas H. and Sally M. Hamilton.

She graduated from Bassick High School and Whitney Art School, and worked as a Display Designer for Howland’s Department Stores.

An active member for over 60 years of the United Congregational Church in Bridgeport, Mrs. Tellalian was President of the United Congregational Women’s Guild, and served on the Board of Music, Board of Trustees, Search Committee, member of the Chancel Choir and Chorale, and “The Seasoners”. Jean also served as President of the YWCA Board, the Bridgeport Hospital Auxiliary, and the Contemporary Club.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her son, Robert S. Tellalian, Jr. and his wife, Christine, of Salisbury; a daughter, Elizabeth Tellalian Gonzalez and her husband, William, of Easton; five grandchildren, Curran and Alex Tellalian, Shawn and David Smith and Sarah Gonzalez; a brother Thomas H. Hamilton and his wife, Gertrude, of Trumbull, and nieces and nephews.

Jean was truly devoted and loving to Bob and their children and grandchildren. She gave her life to helping others.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the United Congregational Church, 877 Park Avenue, Bridgeport with the Rev. Sara D. Smith, Esq. Officiating. Interment will be private in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport.

In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Mrs. Jean Tellalian may be directed to either United Congregational Church “Special Music Fund”, the Greater Bridgeport Symphony, 446 University Avenue, Bridgeport, CT 06604, or to Goodwill Industries, 165 Ocean Terrace, Bridgeport, CT 06605.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield, CT 06824.
