The Stratford Police Department will be conducting roadside sobriety checkpoints and will increase patrols in search of impaired drivers. According to police, the sobriety checkpoints are scheduled for Friday, Nov. 30 and Saturday, Dec. 29 from 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.
These added measures are a result of The Stratford Police Department’s participation in the 2012 Comprehensive DUI Enforcement program. Police say the program enables them to conduct additional roadside sobriety checkpoints. Their believe is that that increased enforcement during that holiday season will reduce the number of impaired driving injuries and fatalities.
Police are encouraging drivers not to drink and drive.
